Great Lakes Credit Union supplies tools for success
BANNOCKBURN, IL (August 29, 2017) — On Friday, August 18, 2017, Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) supplied local elementary students with needed school supplies. GLCU’s Antioch branch provided school supplies to the 8th Annual Book Bag Give-Away event in Kenosha, WI. The crayons, spiral notebooks, markers, hand sanitizers, and other donated items will help fill backpacks for low-income families. The goal is to reduce the burden of purchasing school supplies and to make sure children have all the tools they need for a successful school year.
GLCU’s Zion branch also participated in a local, back to school event hosted by community leaders for underprivileged families. Employees purchased $250 worth of school supplies for this special cause. “It was sensational to be a part of an event that was making a direct impact in students’ lives,” said Lissette Colin, Zion Branch Manager.
All year long employees at GLCU branches will perform various random acts of kindness as a way to make a direct impact and give back to their communities. Stay tuned for the next Random Act of Kindness!
