(CARSON CITY, Nevada) March 23, 2011— The “Wrong Size Car” campaign launched by Greater Nevada Credit Union in September 2010 earned two Gold ADDY Awards at the recent American Advertising Federation-Reno honors gala. Supported by a new centralized lending process implemented in 2010, the campaign helped increase the credit union’s fourth quarter direct loan volume by 30 percent.

“Like many credit unions right now, we’re focused on loans,” said Patty Lewis, Vice President of Lending at Greater Nevada Credit Union. “Our marketing, sales, and lending departments worked hard last year to promote the credit union’s vehicle loans while at the same time ensuring a satisfying loan experience for our members.”

The multi media advertising campaign, produced by Ding Communications in Reno, was centered round two 15-second television commercials and included a new loan-specific website landing page. Images of people with clearly unsuitable vehicles, such as a woman “climbing” into her large truck, create a humorous and eye-catching approach that begs the question, “Isn’t it time to drive something a little more you?”

For those who respond “yes”, a shorter online application speeds the process and enables the credit union’s lending team to quickly follow up on every request, ultimately resulting in more booked loans.

Greater Nevada Credit Union is headquartered in Carson City and has served Nevada consumers since 1949. For more information, visit gncu.org
