Greater TEXAS FCU Hosts Free Shred Day in Bastrop, Texas

Bastrop, TX –Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) hosted a free Shred Day Event in Bastrop, Texas on Saturday, September 15, 2012.

The whole community was encouraged to come out and shred their personal and confidential documents for free, including bank statements, invoices, contracts and tax returns.

Even though it was a little rainy, over 35 people attended and 1,609 pounds of paper were shredded and recycled by Cintas on-site. Attendees were given free give-a-way items, popcorn and cookies. Some credit union members even drove in from out of town to participate in the event. This was the second Shred Day event GTFCU has offered the communities where it has branches, the first one was in Manor, TX in June 2012. The credit union currently has 16 branches across the state of Texas and continues to grow with over 66,000 members.
