GTE is one of Tampa Bay Business Journal’s award winners
TAMPA, FL (December 15, 2014) -- GTE Financial, one of Florida’s largest credit unions, is a winner of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2014 Corporate Philanthropy Awards in the 100 – 500 employee category. The awards spotlight the corporate giving and volunteer programs that stood out in the greater Tampa Bay area during 2013.
"We are tremendously grateful to have won this award and be recognized for our contributions to the community,” says Joe Brancucci, president and CEO of GTE Financial. “Giving back is one of the defining qualities of being a credit union, and we’re proud to exemplify that.”
GTE donated and matched contributions of more than $320,000 in 2013, including in-kind donations such as clothing, food, toys and project materials for renovations. These benefitted non-profit charitable organizations such as AIDS Walk Tampa Bay, Junior Achievement of Tampa, Nick Capitano Boys & Girls Club of Tampa, the United Way Suncoast Chapter and Wheels of Success. In addition, GTE employees volunteered 2,100 hours in the community.
