September, 2010, Pasadena TX – Members of the Shell Federal Credit Union “FCU Team” (Furthering Community Unity) attended the dedication ceremony of the 3rd house completed since Shell FCU partnered with the Pasadena Habitat for Humanity. The Ann Street residence was officially presented on Sunday, Sept 26th to the Duran family. During the dedication, Shell FCU in partnership with Value Furniture presented the new homeowners with a $1,500 house warming Value Furniture gift certificate to help make their house a home. Also in attendance were representatives from Habitat for Humanity, FCU Team members in their “red shirts” and family and friends of the homeowners. The house on Ann Street now stands as a visible reflection of the love and dedication shown by all the volunteers who came to lend a hand ‐ even during the hundred degree days of this past summer. Although not the only company represented, forty (40) Shell FCU employee and member volunteers dedicated many Saturdays on this house and the house next door (scheduled for dedication in October), putting in a total of 186 hours.

FCU Team members have also participated in other community events such as walks, runs, blood drives and food drives. In 2010 to date, the Team has logged over 1300 hours of voluntary service and donated more than $11,000 toward sponsored events.

Committed to its communities, Shell FCU has improved the lives of thousands through service excellence, community outreach and lasting financial solutions for all stages in life since 1937. Get involved with upcoming FCU Team events and help in building a stronger community.
