Hanscom FCU honors Lowell High School AFJROTC cadets
HANSCOM AFB, MA (June 8, 2021) — Hanscom FCU is proud to announce that Aleida Martinez, Lowell High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) cadet, has received the Paul J. Marotta Reach for the Stars Award for 2021.
The credit union has partnered with Lowell High School and the AFJROTC unit in particular, sponsoring trips to drill team competitions, providing annual scholarship awards to students, and teaching a six-week financial management course to cadets for the last 19 years. “The past year has presented new challenges for everyone, especially for these students,” said Maria Porto, Hanscom FCU’s assistant vice president of partner relations. “Both the students and faculty have made adapting to distance education incredibly successful – I’m proud of my team and our students for all of their hard work.”
The Paul J. Marotta Reach for the Stars Award is presented annually to a member of the Lowell High School AFJROTC program who excels in encouraging peers to reach their potential and best displays the core values of the U.S. Air Force.
