Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s Chairman of the Board Paul J. Marotta presented two Lowell High School JROTC students with awards on May 10, 2018.
JROTC Cadet Sarah Boutselis was awarded the 2018 Hanscom Federal Credit Union Honor Guard Award, which includes a $500 scholarship. It is given annually to a senior member of the Honor Guard.
“Sarah has spent the last four years as a member of Lowell High School’s JROTC Honor Guard training and performing at community events, including our own annual meeting,” said Marotta. “I’m incredibly proud of her hard work and dedication. This award is well deserved.”
Marotta also presented the eponymous Paul J. Marotta “Reach for the Stars” Award to Cadet Pechthida Kim, a Lowell High School senior. The award was established by the Lowell JROTC program to honor Marotta for the time, energy, and effort he’s given to young people, especially JROTC cadets.
“Cadet Kim is an outstanding young woman and scholar, and I’m thrilled she’s been chosen for this award,” said Marotta. “I look forward to returning to Lowell High School in the spring to make these awards. Each year, I become more optimistic about the future of our country, knowing these cadets are leading us to a brighter, stronger future.”
