Hanscom FCU presents $1500 matching gift to Fisher House Boston

HANSCOM AFB, MA (April 12, 2018) — On behalf of the Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN), Hanscom Federal Credit Union recently presented a $1500 check to Fisher House Boston. The check matched a Board Memorial Award given to Fisher House in December 2017 by Hanscom FCU.

Fisher House Boston provides military families with safe, comfortable lodging at no charge while their family member receives medical treatment through the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). “It’s in our credit union’s DNA to support military families during their times of need,” said Hanscom FCU Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. “Fisher House Boston gives the loved ones of veterans and active duty personnel a place that feels as much like home as it can. We are grateful to AFFN that they’ve enabled us to double our support of this valuable resource for military families.”

There are currently 71 Fisher Houses located around the U.S. and in the U.K. Fisher House Boston was the 46th house to be built and dedicated. Each year it serves families with loved ones who are seeking medical care at the VA Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury Campus.
