Hawaii State FCU donates $24,500 to local foodbanks

HONOLULU, HI (August 4, 2021)Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Hawaii State FCU) announced today that it has donated a total of $24,500 and more than two tons of food to local foodbanks on Oahu and Maui, as a result of its 2021 company-wide food drive. Hawaii State FCU donated $22,000 and 3,853 pounds of food to the Hawaii Foodbank on Oahu, and donated $2,500 and 960 pounds of food to the Maui Food Bank.

“During these challenging times when hunger and food insecurity are affecting local families more than ever, it’s important that we give back in any way we can,” says Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaii State FCU. “I would like to thank our employees, members and the community for their generous donations and for reaching our $10,000 goal. As a local credit union, we remain committed to helping our community thrive and we’re proud to match our efforts by providing an additional $10,000 donation on behalf of the credit union.”

Hawaii State FCU’s food drive was held from June 21 – July 17, 2021. After reaching its goal of $10,000, the credit union matched the efforts with an additional $10,000 donation. During the course of the campaign, the credit union accepted monetary donations virtually and all 11 Hawaii State FCU branch locations on Oahu and Maui served as food collection sites.
