Elevations Foundation announces that Healing Warriors Program is the recipient of the first-ever Elevations Members’ Choice Award and will receive a $2,000 bonus grant from the Foundation. The funds will go toward the local nonprofit’s work to provide non-narcotic therapies to veterans and their families. Healing Warriors Program earned this award after Elevations Foundation invited Elevations Credit Union members to vote for one of three Foundation grantees working in the field of mental health.
“Elevations Foundation has been an important supporter of the Healing Warriors Program for more than three years, and we are so thankful to the credit union members who voted for our organization to receive the Elevations Members’ Choice Award bonus grant,” said Ana Yelen, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Healing Warriors Program. “These extra dollars will go a long way in helping with mental health services for veterans who often struggle integrating back into civilian life.”
Over 1,600 Elevations Credit Union members participated in the Elevations Members’ Choice Award voting in late September, with each member receiving one vote. The voting followed Elevations Foundation’s annual community grant application cycle, which was open to local community-based organizations that work in the fields of mental health, early childhood development and sustainability/environmental education.
“We launched the Members’ Choice Award with Elevations Credit Union for the first time this year to give credit union members the opportunity to participate in community philanthropy,” said Phil Ferrante-Roseberry, Executive Director of Elevations Foundation. “Elevations Foundation proudly supports local nonprofit organizations through the community grant program, and the Members’ Choice Award enhances this initiative. Congratulations to Healing Warriors Program on being the first to earn this bonus grant for their exceptional work with veterans.”
Elevations Foundation will celebrate all of its 2019-2020 community grant recipients, including Healing Warriors Program, at a public reception on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Elevations Credit Union’s Diagonal Branch in Boulder. For more information or to register, please visit bit.ly/
