Hello Credit Union celebrates second annual #HelloCares Presidents Day of Service

Panama City, FL (February 17, 2026) |

While many observe Presidents Day as  a holiday, employees of Hello Credit Union spent the day giving back. For the second  year in a row, team members across the organization dedicated their time to volunteer  service throughout their local communities as part of the credit union’s #HelloCares  initiative.

From sorting donated clothing at local Goodwill stores to preparing disaster relief supplies  with Save the Closet, Hello Credit Union staff rolled up their sleeves to make a meaningful  impact. Employees also partnered with the Red Cross to install smoke detectors in homes  for low-income families, brought comfort to hospice patients by visiting with certified  therapy dogs, and volunteered at the Helping Hands Second Hand Store to support  community programs.

“At Hello Credit Union, service doesn’t stop at financial support,” said Mike Akers, President/CEO. “#HelloCares reflects who we are as an organization. We believe in  showing up for our communities—not just in words, but in action. Presidents Day is an  opportunity for our team to live out that commitment together.”

The #HelloCares initiative underscores Hello Credit Union’s mission to strengthen the  financial and personal well-being of the communities it serves. By dedicating the holiday  to volunteerism, employees demonstrate the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping  people’ in tangible and impactful ways.

With participation growing in its second year, Hello Credit Union plans to continue  expanding #HelloCares as an annual tradition that unites employees around a shared  purpose: making a positive difference where they live and work.
