Rallied by its CU Involved committee, MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) employees came through for local students. Employees donated school supplies for districts in Lansing and Oakland County during its annual drive.
Items donation by the Greater Lansing branches:
Over 100 packets of pencils and pens
Over 100 folders
Over 100 notebooks
Over 50 boxes of pencils, markers, and crayons
25 pencil boxes
Over 10 containers of Clorox wipes
Items donated by Oakland County branches:
Over 330 pencils
Over 50 notebooks
Over 50 glue sticks
15 erasers
Over 10 pairs of scissors
10 boxes of markers and two cases of bottled water
“This school supply collection was driven by our CU Involved committee, composed internally of employee volunteers,” said Silvia Dimma, MSUFCU’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “The generosity our employees show for youth in need in our communities is gratifying to see. Time and time again they help others in any way they can.”
“When families are struggling to make ends meet, school supplies are the last thing on their list even though they’re needed,” said Brian Philson, President and CEO of Highfields. “Many teachers often try to offset the cost by providing supplies out of their own pockets just so students don’t fall behind. Thanks to MSU Federal Credit Union, Highfields’ clients have one less thing to worry about.”
