JACKSON, Mich. – American 1 Credit Union is dedicated to the communities they serve and feel strongly about giving back. On Saturday, September 22 from 12pm to 3pm at the Clinton Township Branch, and on Saturday, September 29, from 12pm to 3pm at the Home Office Branch, American 1 Credit Union held a free community Shred Days. Community members and small businesses were encouraged to bring confidential information to be shredded and recycled, and to help prevent identity theft. There were many community members that took advantage of this opportunity in both locations.
Those who attended could enter into a drawing for a personal shredder provided by American 1 Credit Union. The winners of these drawings were Glenn P., of Clinton Township, and Jouette D., of Jackson.
American 1 held two other Shred Days back in May, at the same two locations. Between all four Shred Days this year, 42.7 trees were saved due to all of the material that was recycled.
Today American 1 Credit Union has been providing low-cost financial services to more than 50,000 members and several hundred partner companies. American 1 Credit Union serves Jackson, Calhoun, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties. Visit www.american1cu.org for more information.
