Heritage Federal Credit Union Announces New Board Members

NEWBURGH, IN (May 20, 2013) Long-time Board of Directors member and Chairman Donald F. Bowen was honored for his leadership and dedicated volunteer service to Heritage Federal Credit Union. Bowen retired from the board in April. His seat was filled by incoming Chairman Stephen Crow.

During Bowen’s years on the board, including his most recent term as Board of Directors Chairman, he was an active volunteer member serving on numerous credit union committees and on the board.

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, each member of Heritage Federal Credit Union is an owner of the credit union and has a vote, regardless of his or her financial stature. Credit union member-owners elect the volunteers to serve on the board. The volunteers elected to the Board of Directors dedicate hours of personal time for board meetings, as well as committee meetings, in order to serve over 44,100 member-owners of Heritage Federal Credit Union.

Stephen Crow, Board of Directors Chairman, announced that Joshua Mischler is a newly instated 2013 Board of Director at the HFCU 48th Annual Meeting on April 11, 2013. The annual meeting was held at The Centre in downtown Evansville.

At the organizational meeting, the Board appointed officers to serve the credit union for the upcoming year: Stephen Crow – Chairman, William Yockey – 1st Vice Chairman, William “David” Willett – 2nd Vice Chairman, Andrew Buchanan – Secretary and Michelle Orange – Treasurer.

“We recognize Don Bowen, an amazing man who has given countless hours as a volunteer to make Heritage Federal Credit Union a success.” stated Ruth Jenkins, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union. “We thank him for over 35 years of dedicated service, and we look forward to working alongside the new, committed Board volunteers to lead the credit union into the future.”
