Heritage Federal Credit Union announces partnership with CO-OP Shared Branching Network

NEWBURGH, IN (April 22, 2015) — Heritage Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that they have partnered with the CO-OP Shared Branching network, a fast-growing national network of credit unions that allows members of other credit unions to use their branches to conduct basic teller transactions.

Now that Heritage Federal Credit Union is linked to other credit unions nationwide, HFCU members will have direct, surcharge-free access to more than 5,000 CO-OP Shared Branching credit union locations to make in-person transactions, just like they would at their HFCU home branch. Likewise, members from other Shared Branching credit unions will be able to visit HFCU to access their accounts and conduct transactions.

Credit union members will be able to do almost everything they normally do with a teller at any participating Shared Branching credit union including:*

  • Make Deposits
  • Cash Checks
  • Withdraw Funds
  • Transfer Monies from One Account to Another
  • Obtain Balance Inquiries
  • Make Loan Payments and Advances

*Some fees may apply.

When conducting a transaction at a Shared Branching location, the host credit union will require the member’s credit union name, their member number, and a photo ID.

Members will be able to find a Shared Branching location near their home, work, or favorite vacation spot, using the Shared Branching website at www.co-opsharedbranch.org

Ruth Jenkins, CCE, CUERME, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union said, “We are very pleased to announce that we are now part of the CO-OP Shared Branching network. Our 47,000+ members will now have the added convenience of accessing their accounts and money at other participating CO-OP credit unions across the country. Credit unions that are connected with the CO-OP Shared Branching network are now able to compete with regional and national financial institutions by greatly expanding their reach. Credit union members can utilize this service when they are traveling, or when they relocate, or when they have a child go off to college. In addition, other credit union members are welcome to use our facilities as well. Wherever participating credit union members are, now their credit union is always nearby.”
