Newburgh, IN — Heritage Federal Credit Union recently partnered with the Salvation Army in filling and distributing 300 backpacks to students in Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties.
Employees of Heritage Federal Credit Union volunteered to fill 300 backpacks with school necessities at the Salvation Army Evansville headquarters. These back-to-school packs will be distributed to schools throughout the communities that the Credit Union serves. Ruth Jenkins, CCE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Federal Credit Union stated, “The back-to-school season is a busy, sometimes very costly, time of year. This cooperative effort of the Salvation Army and Heritage Federal Credit Union ensures that students in need in our community do not get overlooked. The willingness of these employees to give of their personal time to support the work of the Salvation Army exemplifies the Credit Union’s People Helping People philosophy.”
Major David Minks of the Salvation Army stated, “Heritage Federal Credit Union has been instrumental in many projects here at the Salvation Army. With the start of a new school year, children need to have adequate school supplies. The employees have given of their time to create back-to-school packs that include all the necessities to make each child’s return to school a positive and productive experience. Over 300 kids will be impacted by this program, making a difference now and for the future.”
