Heritage Federal Credit Union President & CEO Ruth Jenkins re-elected Indiana Credit Union Foundation Board Chairman
NEWBURGH, IN (January 6, 2017) — Heritage Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that Ruth Jenkins, HFCU President and CEO, was re-elected Chairman of the Indiana Credit Union Foundation Board for 2017 when the Board met in December, 2016. Ruth was also re-appointed to serve a three-year term as an at-large Director at the Indiana Credit Union League Board reorganization meeting that was held in October, 2016.
The Indiana Credit Union Foundation is a charitable arm of the Indiana Credit Union League, using contributions from individuals, credit unions, and other organizations to fund projects which benefit Hoosier credit unions. These include scholarships and grants, credit union development, and other programs as approved by its board of directors including financial literacy, community education programs, and disaster relief.
Steve Crow, Heritage Federal Credit Union Board of Directors Chairman said, “Ruth has been actively involved in the credit union movement for over 36 years and her contributions to Indiana’s credit unions have included service on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Credit Union Foundation, the Indiana Credit Union League’s Governmental Affairs Committee, and the League’s Convention Committee. Ruth’s leadership skills are clearly evident at HFCU where she has developed a strong team, unique products and programs, an excellent focus on member service (as recognized by independent third-party organizations), and a strong community outreach as a volunteer committee member and officer for local non-profit boards. As Ruth serves as the Indiana Credit Union Foundation Board Chairman, I have no doubt she will continue to use her leadership skills and experience to successfully lead the Foundation‘s numerous projects, programs, and efforts throughout 2017 just as Ruth has done at Heritage Federal throughout her ten-year tenure as our leader. Under Ruth’s exceptional leadership, the credit union has significantly increased its asset size to over $523 million, increased its membership to over 53,000 members, and expanded its field of membership to include Henderson and Posey Counties.”
