Heritage Trust donates $5,500 to American Heart Association

CHARLESTON, SC (October 25, 2016) — In late September, Heritage Trust supported the American Heart Association’s Lowcountry Heart Walk. This annual event raises community awareness and helps fund better ways to prevent, detect and treat stroke and heart disease. This year, Heritage Trust donated $5,500 to the American Heart Association through various branch fundraisers along with a corporate sponsorship.

“I am honored to work with such caring and giving individuals and I am proud of our employees for being so dedicated to this cause,” commented Jim McDaniel, CEO/President of Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union. “I am overwhelmed by the outreach and support our employees and members showed throughout the Heart Walk fundraising season.”

The Lowcountry Heart Walk is a yearly celebration that raises money and public awareness in the fight against the country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that’s fun and rewarding for the entire family.1 Over thirty Heritage Trust employees, families and friends attended this community event.

Funds raised at this event as well as through other fundraising efforts held throughout the year will benefit the American Heart Association.
