The employees at Highmark Federal Credit Union are jumping in to raise money for the local American Heart Association.  They are holding an old-fashioned Bake Sale on Tuesday, October 11, from 9 am – 5 pm in their main lobby. All of their employees are making plans to bake their favorite cookies, pies, bars and snack mix, and placing them in small take-home packages, for the public’s enjoyment. The event is informally dubbed “Fall Festival” Bake Sale.

“Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in South Dakota,” explains Robin Albers, Executive Director, American Heart Association, Rapid City. “Much of the money raised locally for our organization stays here in South Dakota, supporting research for heart disease. In fact, the American Heart Association currently funds over $1 million in on-going research in our great state,” concludes Albers.  John Carlson, President of Highmark Federal Credit Union, is pleased with the energy and enthusiasm that Highmark employees are displaying in support of this worthy cause. He invites the community to stop by and purchase a home-made treat in support of the American Heart Association.

So stop by Highmark Federal Credit Union on Tuesday, October 11, at 725 5th Street in Rapid City and check out the Fall Festival Bake Sale.
