Hiway Federal Credit Union and Minnesota Hockey renew partnership

Venture includes promotion of Hockey Kids4Kids program for Gillette Children’s Speciality Health Care

ST. PAUL, MN (November 29, 2017) — Hiway Federal Credit Union® (Hiway) and Minnesota Hockey today announced that they will continue their premier partnership, including its presenting partnership of the Minnesota Hockey Rec League. They will also be teaming up with the Minnesota Wild to promote the Hockey Kids4Kids program to benefit Gillette Children’s Specialty Health Care.

Hiway’s Hockey Kids4Kids encourages youth hockey teams in Minnesota to use their own creative ideas to raise funds for Gillette Children’s. Teams that raise $500 or more will be qualified to win a one-of-a-kind team party in a suite at the Minnesota Wild – Detroit Red Wings game on Sunday, March 4, 2018. The winning team, selected at random, will also be treated to an exclusive pregame tour of the Xcel Energy Center, meet members of the Minnesota Wild and receive merchandise from the Wild and Hiway.

Hiway is also a continuing partner of the Rec League. The mission of the Rec League is to encourage more kids in the Twin Cities metro area to experience ice hockey by allowing them to participate in a recreational setting. Volunteer coaches teach new players fundamental skills while fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, fair play and a love of the game. The league provides players with an opportunity to participate with their friends in a fun, safe and affordable environment, while also enabling them to be involved with other activities.

The Rec League’s low cost and low commitment program has been popular with players and parents alike, helping the league grow to over 650 participants in just eight years.

“Hiway is proud to continue its strong relationship with Minnesota Hockey,” said Dave Boden, Hiway President/CEO. “Hiway recognizes the unique role hockey plays in Minnesota’s culture and we’re excited to see how the youth hockey teams in Minnesota come together to help the children of Gillette Children’s Specialty Health Care.”

Hiway is committed to improving the financial lives of Minnesota families by offering affordable banking solutions and making banking quick and easy so that you can focus on the more important things in your life.

“Hiway has already done so much to help in the growth of the Minnesota Hockey Recreation League,” stated Dave Margenau, Minnesota Hockey President. “It is a testament to their desire to help their community by adding the Hockey Kids4Kids program, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to assist them in this initiative.”
