Honor Credit Union accepting applications to award $20,000 to Michigan teachers for the 17th year

BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI (June 2, 2026) |

Honor Credit Union has officially opened applications for its 17th Annual Teacher Awards, continuing its long-standing tradition of celebrating and supporting educators across Michigan. This year, 40 teachers will each receive a $500 Amazon digital gift card to help bring their classroom dreams to life, totaling $20,000 in awards across the state.

Honor’s Teacher Awards reflect the credit union’s strong connection to education. Originally founded as Berrien Teachers Credit Union, Honor has supported educators and schools for more than 90 years. The awards are one of many ways the credit union gives back to the communities it serves.

Teachers are encouraged to apply for a chance to receive a $500 Amazon digital gift card by submitting a short statement (200 words or less) detailing how they would use the funds to support their students or enhance their classroom environment. The application window is Tuesday, June 2, 2026, through Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. Winners will be notified by Friday, September 25, 2026.

“Supporting educators is central to our mission at Honor Credit Union,” said Scott McFarland, CEO of Honor Credit Union. “Our history as a teachers’ credit union continues to guide our commitment to schools and communities. Through the Teacher Awards, we’re honored to recognize the incredible impact teachers make every day and to help provide resources that empower both educators and their students to succeed.”

Applicants do not need to be Honor Credit Union members to participate. To apply or view the official rules, visit honorcu.com/teachers. Winners will be contacted directly, and all other applicants will be notified by email.
