ST. JOSEPH, MI (October 1, 2013) -- Opening this fall will be Honor Credit Union’s latest student credit union, Paw Paw Pride. Paw Paw Pride will be the student credit union for Paw Paw Later Elementary, and will be ran by the 5th grade students with the supervision and guidance of Honor Credit Union’s Paw Paw branch staff. The student credit union will be open at Paw Paw Later Elementary every other Friday beginning October 11th.
Honor Credit Union’s student credit union program allows students to begin building an understanding of saving money. Paw Paw Pride will employ the 5th grade students to run the student credit union, enabling them to gain valuable life skills, such as responsibility, math skills, marketing, and management. Students at Paw Paw Later Elementary will have the opportunity to deposit money into their account every other Friday, and will be able to see how easy saving can be. Honor Credit Union has a rewards program for students as they make deposits, showing students how fun saving can be, as well.
“There is no better way to show kids how fun saving can be than with Honor’s student credit union program,” comments Paw Paw branch manager Dustin Nehls, “We are excited to bring the program to Paw Paw Later Elementary.”
