ST JOSEPH, MI (February 12, 2014) — Honor Credit Union is proud to partner with nonprofit Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. to help troops call home by donating gently used cell phones. Funds raised from the recycling of the donated cell phones are used to purchase pre-paid international calling cards. Community members can donate cell phones to the Honor branches in Stevensville, Paw Paw, Kalamazoo, and Coldwater.
Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. was founded in 2004 by teenagers Robbie and Brittany Bergquist with the goal of providing free talk time to servicemen and women stationed around the world. To assist as many as 290,000 troops serving in the U.S. military around the world, Honor is encouraging community members to donate their gently used cell phones to this deserving organization. The program distributes an average of 12,000 calling cards each week to bases around the world! Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. is another way that Honor Credit Union, our communities, and our members can show our appreciation for the men and women that make up the United States military.
Honor Credit Union is proud to serve more than 41,000 members over fourteen counties in Michigan. Providing solutions for financial success and giving back to the communities they serve remain the driving forces behind Honor Credit Union.
