Honor Credit Union launches BNPL to elevate digital banking experience

Michigan credit union provides members with financial flexibility on debit cards and checking accounts to help manage cash flow and pay over time

Berrien Springs, MI (February 4, 2026) |

Honor Credit Union (Honor) announced the launch of a new Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) product designed to elevate Honor’s digital banking experience. Embedded within Honor’s mobile and online banking platforms, BNPL enables members to pay for purchases over time using their existing credit union debit cards and checking accounts.

Honor’s BNPL allows members to split eligible debit card purchases into manageable payments and to obtain extra funds prior to making larger purchases. By giving members a structured way to plan payments over time, BNPL will help reduce financial strain and improve everyday money management.

“Honor is focused on providing practical tools that help members build confidence in how they manage their money,” said Dustin Nehls, Vice President of Consumer Lending at Honor Credit Union. “By providing BNPL, we’re giving members more financial flexibility while keeping the experience simple, transparent, and embedded within Honor’s digital banking experience.”

Honor partnered with equipifi, the leading BNPL platform for financial institutions, to deliver the product as an in-house, credit union branded offering. Members receive pre-qualified BNPL offers tailored to reflect their purchasing power, and can view and accept them to receive funds in moments. Unlike third-party BNPL programs, Honor’s BNPL is delivered within the credit union’s secure ecosystem, allowing the credit union to manage the program in alignment with its commitment to responsible, member-first financial solutions.

“Honor Credit Union is investing in innovation that meets members where they are through their everyday digital banking experience,” said Bryce Deeney, Co-Founder and CEO of equipifi. “By offering BNPL in a way that prioritizes member needs and long-term wellness, Honor is redefining how financial institutions can truly support their communities.”

As consumer payment preferences continue to evolve, Honor remains committed to offering accessible tools that help members manage expenses responsibly, build financial resilience, and make progress toward their goals.
