Honor CU awarded Credit Union National Association’s WOW Award
BERRIEN SPRINGS, MI (October 26, 2017) — Honor Credit Union’s Organizational Development team was excited to be awarded the WOW Award by the Credit Union National Association in Seattle, Washington last week. CUNA presents the WOW Award to the credit union with the best overall training program or event that inspires learning, teaches skills that go beyond the classroom, and leaves the participants feeling empowered.
Honor’s submission revolved around the “I AM Honor” initiative and journey map within Honor’s team members. This powerful introduction into the Honor culture helps guide new team members through their first 90 days and continues to stay with them throughout their career.
“I AM Honor is a mentality of purpose and does not consider title or position,” stated Honor’s Education and Development Manager Charley Shasky. “It’s about individual contributions, moving the needle and connecting with the why rather than the what.”
Honor’s Organization Development team is responsible for training new team members, introducing them to the Honor culture, and developing new training programs. They are the first to welcome each new hire to the Honor team and they continue to work with employees on general education training and career development.
