Illinois Credit Union League Service Corporation (Envisant) donates additional $50,000 to the CU Awareness Program in Illinois

Momentum grows in Illinois as research finds that consumer consideration has increased in all categories

WASHINGTON, DC (December 1, 2021) — Illinois Credit Union League Service Corporation (recently rebranded to Envisant) in Naperville, IL pledged an additional $50,000 to the CU Awareness Program in Illinois, topping Envisant’s total support of the initiative at $600,000.

The Credit Union Awareness program is making significant progress towards the goal of increasing consumer consideration for the credit union category, according to the July 2021 bi-annual research conducted by CU Awareness, LLC. More consumers than ever are aware of credit unions, demonstrated by a nearly 10-point increase in ad recall for credit unions nationally. Consumer consideration for credit unions as lenders has reached 22%, an increase of 8 points from the baseline in 2019. In states where the program has run the longest, total consideration achieved double digit growth.

“The results of the recent consumer consideration research are remarkable,” said Libby Calderone, President of Envisant (formerly LSC). “Illinois has experienced a 9-point increase in loan consideration and a 10-point increase in checking/saving account consideration since the initiative launched in January 2020. We are pleased with the initial results and proud to continue supporting efforts to drive this vital initiative forward.”

“The Illinois Credit Union League has been honored to work in partnership with our CUSO Envisant to support the Credit Union Awareness program from its beginning,” said Illinois Credit Union League President/CEO Tom Kane. “The benefits credit unions offer members and the positive impact they make towards helping members achieve their goals is a message that needs to be heard clearly, and this initiative does an amazing job of it.”

CU Awareness, LLC said it plans to be running the campaign in 30 states by the end of 2021. Currently, the program is in 27 states and has the backing of more than 1,100 credit unions nationwide. To date, the campaign has resulted in 3.7 billion impressions and over ten million visits to YourMoneyFurther.com – a consumer-facing website that all Credit Union Awareness ads link to as a call to action.

“Envisant’s continued support and generous contributions pave the way for other CUSOs, credit unions, and service providers across the country to support this critical effort of raising consumer consideration of credit unions,” said Chris Lorence, Credit Union Awareness Executive Director. “Thank you to Envisant for recognizing the progress we’ve made thus far for the industry; we look forward to continuing the momentum together into the next phase of the Credit Union Awareness program.”
