Illinois shows strong representation at 2015 CUNA Management School graduation

NAPERVILLE, IL (August 5, 2015) — Each summer, the University of Wisconsin and the City of Madison become home to credit union professionals who are investing in their careers and the credit union movement’s longest-running high-level educational program, CUNA Management School. This year’s graduating class of 81 enrollees included five executives from Illinois to receive the Credit Union Certified Executive (CCUE) designation.

This year’s ceremony was held July 23, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. The graduates from Illinois this year included:

  • Richard Bicanic
Vice President of Lending, GCS Credit Union
  • Kelly Eacker
Member Service Representative, Blackhawk Area Credit Union
  • Lindsey Kramer
Loan Officer, Members First Community Credit Union
  • Bill Cerwin
    Manager of Insurance Services, LSC
  • Rick Goluszka
Regional Director, Illinois Credit Union League

“The Illinois Credit Union League congratulates our newest Illinois CCUEs and all of the CUNA Management School graduates on their hard work,” said Tom Kane, ICUL CEO/President. “We commend these individuals for making a significant investment in their careers by obtaining the advanced knowledge which ultimately will help further their careers and the credit union movement.”

CUNA Management School is a three-year program that provides credit union professionals with comprehensive information and practical skills for optimizing their credit union’s efforts. To receive their CCUE, a student must attend all three years of the program, including successful completion of three exams, two projects and an oral presentation. Upon graduation students earn their CCUE designation.

In addition to earning their CCUE, the current class of graduates also raised more than $32,000 for the School’s scholarship program via various fundraisers held over the course of the three-year program. Scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to attend the school, truly exemplifying the “People Helping People” credit union philosophy.
