METAIRIE, LA (October 25, 2023) — In a true testament to collaborative partnerships, eleven credit unions in the Greater New Orleans area came together to host a one-of-a-kind event to celebrate their members. Credit Union Fest 2023 was held October 14, at the Shrine on Airline in Metairie, Louisiana. The festivities included three Louisiana bands: Groovy 7, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, and Marc Broussard. Credit Union Fest also hosted five food trucks at the event, a cash bar, and a designated kids’ area.
More than 1,200 festival goers got their hands on free tickets simply by being members of the participating credit unions. Together, GNO Federal Credit Union, Jefferson Parish Employees FCU, OnPath FCU, Xplore FCU, Louisiana FCU, New Orleans Firemen’s FCU, NODA FCU, St. Tammany FCU, UNO Federal Credit Union, IRFCU, and InStep Credit Union, along with 3131 Media Solutions, an advertising agency CUSO, pooled their resources and personnel to help plan, promote and execute the event.
“Regardless of which credit union you bank with, we all share the same mission: ensuring our members have access to financial resources. One of ways we achieve this is through collaboration, working with each other daily to propel the industry forward,” said OnPath FCU President & CEO Jared Freeman. “Credit Union Fest was just another example of how we work together for the greater good of our members and an even greater good for the community we serve.”
This year’s inaugural concert also drew the attention of several sponsors. SWBC, Engagefi, Route 66 Extended Warranty, Allied Solutions, Trustage, VISA, HUB, and Shared Branching each contributed to the success of the initial event.
