Inaugural session of live video business lending training for credit unions proves successful

TREVOSE, PA (May 14, 2019) — Last week, Member Business Financial Services (MBFS) kicked-off its first live video business lending training session for credit unions. Over 20 credit unions participated in this inaugural session.

The interactive video training sessions are available to credit unions nationwide and were created to offer the business services education that NCUA requires for board and senior management, at a reasonable price.

“As a CUSO, we understand that bringing people on-site or sending staff to conferences can be costly,” says Mark Ritter, CEO of MBFS. “By offering live video training from a professional studio, we can help board and senior management get the training they need from a safety and soundness standpoint.”

The first session on May 9th, Business Lending Basics for Board & Senior Management, focused on oversight and risk management best practices to build and maintain a successful business lending program.

“Our Board and Senior Management team walked away with a greater understanding of the responsibilities and knowledge necessary for proper direction and oversight of our critical Business Lending function,” said Brian Waugaman, CEO of Erie FCU. “The live video training format provided a much more personalized experience that was both convenient and cost-effective, allowing our entire team to participate.”

The next session, Planning Business Lending Sales at Your Credit Union, will focus on loan originators and sales management to help build and execute a successful sales strategy and ensure that your credit union gets the most out of the time and energy spent on business loans.

Sessions begin at 1pm EST and are two hours in length. Participants have opportunities to ask questions throughout the session. The cost is $175 per session and includes up to three connections at each participating credit union.

For more information on how to register for the next Live Video Training session, please visit www.mbfs.org or email your credit union’s information to info@mbfs.org.
