The Indiana Credit Union Foundation awarded professional development scholarships for 2019 in the amount of $24,686 to 33 people from Indiana credit unions and is currently accepting applications for 2020 scholarships. The Foundation is also a long-time supporter of the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) and its Biz Kid$ financial literacy program. The Foundation’s 2020 financial literacy efforts also include using a grant from NCUF to develop a Bite of Reality app for use by students participating in Reality Fairs. Bite of Reality kits will be developed for credit unions to use in connection with the app. The Foundation is seeking credit union participants in Indiana for Reality Fair partnerships.

In addition to its professional development scholarships, the Foundation will offer a specific scholarship to cover the majority of expenses for one person to attend the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Educator Training.

“We are looking forward to 2020 being another year where our involvement can make a difference in the credit union community,” said Foundation Chairman Andy Burggraf. “We are fortunate to have the involvement and financial support of credit unions, sponsors and many individuals. This allows the Foundation a strong base of support as we offer financial literacy, professional development and a number of other initiatives.”
