Indiana Credit Union Foundation will offer DE scholarship

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (January 9, 2020) — The Indiana Credit Union Foundation has authorized a scholarship for one individual from an Indiana credit union to attend the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Educator (DE) program.

“We are excited to be able to assist someone to fuel their passion for credit unions and earn this certification,” said Foundation Chairman Andy Burggraf of CommunityWide FCU. “This training experience includes critical lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy and international development issues while incorporating challenges credit unions face today. These are important lessons for understanding and representing the credit union difference.”

The new scholarship, valued at $3,300, will cover the registration fee for DE training. The recipient will be responsible for other expenses such as airfare, ground transportation and meals that are not part of the program. The training is offered in Madison, Wis., in 2020 on the following dates: March 29-April 4; May 10-16; September 13-19; November 8-14. Registration for DE training is currently open. Additional information about DE training is available here.

The application deadline is January 21, 2020. A link to the Indiana Credit Union Foundation’s DE Scholarship Application is here.
