Indiana Members Credit Union CEO Ron Collier Named To Credit Union House Hall Of Leaders

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) is proud to announce that Ron Collier, Chief Executive Officer for IMCU, has been inducted into the 2013 Credit Union House Hall of Leaders.  Collier was among 3 Indiana credit union leaders and 22 individuals nationwide honored by Credit Union House LLC for their significant contributions to the credit union business.  Collier’s induction was made recently, during the Credit Union National Association’s Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.

Collier’s name will be permanently displayed at Credit Union House, an elegant, federal-style townhome on Capitol Hill that symbolizes the strength and permanence of the credit union movement.  It is a host location for many events for Members of Congress and other leaders in the nation’s capital. In its sixth year, the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders provides lasting recognition for credit union leaders whose commitment has made a significant impact on the credit union movement at the local, state, or national level.

Credit Union House (CU House), built in 2001, is a stately townhouse located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.  It is owned by every statewide credit union trade association and America Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) and is a symbol of the strength and permanence of the credit union movement on the national scene.

“I am truly honored to be inducted into the Hall of Leaders,” said Ron Collier, CEO of IMCU.  “Being actively involved in the credit union movement is something I am passionate about.  ‘People Helping People’ is a philosophy that I feel is a natural fit with credit unions as a whole due to the true nature of our business.  I would like to thank the Credit Union House for this induction.”

Collier began his credit union career in 1982 and became Chief Executive Officer of Indiana Members Credit Union in 2003 and has been involved in countless initiatives at IMCU which serves central Indiana through 24 locations and over 100,000 members. Under Collier’s leadership, IMCU celebrated 50 years in business and attained $1 Billion in assets in 2006, and also received several state and national awards for service to the community and is a strong supporter of Indy BackPack Attack, which Collier also serves on the board for.  He is a member of the Indiana League Governmental Affairs Committee, a past board member of the League and a member of several committees and task forces for the League and for the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors, as well as a past board member of the Ruth Lilly Health Education Foundation, Indiana Make-A-Wish and St. Francis Hospital Foundation.  He is a member of the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) and is a past member of the National Youth Involvement Board. Collier is a member of the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Indiana League’s Professional Achievement Award.  Collier is passionately involved in the political process and has devoted time and resources to advocating for credit unions on Capitol Hill.

He and his wife Debbie have three grown children, Ashley, Katie and Daniel and are the proud grandparents of twin boys.  They currently reside in New Palestine, IN.
