iQ Credit Union announces appointment of new President/CEO

VANCOUVER, WA (May 10, 2016) — iQ Credit Union today announced that Kelly Schrader has been selected as iQ Credit Union’s new President and Chief Executive Officer and will assume the new role on June 1, 2016. Schrader was selected after an extensive national search by the Board of Directors. Due to iQ’s strong reputation in the financial marketplace, the position attracted candidates from both banks and credit unions globally. With 67,000 members and $860 million in assets, iQ is the second largest credit union in the Vancouver, Washington area.

Schrader succeeds Roger Michaelis, who will retire from iQ Credit Union in June 2016. Michaelis delayed retirement for two years to complete the merger with Lacamas Community Credit Union. “I can think of no one better to lead iQ Credit Union into the future,” said Michaelis, who after 31 years with the Credit Union is looking forward to full-time retirement.

Schrader comes to iQ Credit Union from OnPoint Community Credit Union, most recently as Senior Vice President/Chief Operations & Risk Officer. She has 26 years of credit union experience with a proven leadership background in all aspects ranging from consumer, business and residential lending to operations, member services and marketing.

Schrader has a deep history of experience growing a credit union all while balancing a personal commitment of involvement within the community in which she lives and works. She is currently active on the board for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation, OHSU/Doernbecher joint Finance and Audit Committee member, and volunteers to read with grade school children through the Start Making a Reader Today (SMART) program.
