Jax Federal Credit Union announces reopening of branch lobbies on May 13, 2020

Branch lobbies will operate in alignment with current health and safety guidelines

JACKSONVILLE, FL (May 13, 2020) — Jax Federal Credit Union has reopened its branch lobbies, effective Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 9 a.m.

Branches will operate in alignment with current health and safety guidelines set forth by the State of Florida, the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. Members are encouraged to utilize contact-free services such as drive-thru teller stations, online and mobile banking, live chat with member support specialists at jaxfcu.org and the credit union’s contact center (accessible at 904-475-800 during business hours).

All Jax Federal Credit Union branches will adhere to the following new policies:

  • Members can schedule appointments at jaxfcu.org to open a new personal or business account, apply for a loan or request notary public services.

  • Staff members will wear face masks and/or provide service from behind clear acrylic barriers.

  • Branches will have posted guidelines for maximum occupancy that reflect social distancing guidelines. Members may be asked to check in, then wait in their vehicles during peak times.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available for members at all branches.

  • New floor signs have been installed to direct members on where to walk and wait for service.

  • Common areas, such as coffee stations and check desks, will be closed to members for the time being.

  • Surfaces within each branch will be sanitized throughout the day, followed by a thorough cleaning each night.

  • Sanitized and used pens will be stored in clearly identified, separate cups.

  • Members are strongly encouraged to limit visits only to those whose presence is necessary for the transaction; young children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Members are encouraged to wear masks covering the nose and mouth, though staff may request members to remove it temporarily for identification and security purposes. Full face masks, such as ski masks, military masks or masks combined with sunglasses, are not permitted. Members are also welcome to bring gloves for using stylus pens for transaction receipts and loan closings.

“The health and well-being of our members and employees remain a top priority,” said Mary Svoboda, Interim President and CEO of Jax Federal Credit Union. “The branch experience will feel quite different than before, but our commitment to creating an exemplary member experience has never been stronger. We appreciate our members’ understanding and kindness as we navigate how to best serve the community during this challenging time.”
