Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awards $1,500 to Adam Keenan Foundation, Inc.

LOWELL, MA (April 17, 2019) — Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is pleased to announce the winner of its latest Give-A-Click campaign, Adam Keenan Foundation, Inc. The organization received a $1,500 donation from the Credit Union’s We Share A Common Thread Foundation.

The Give-A-Click program runs quarterly on the We Share a Common Thread Foundation website (WSACT.com). Community members visit the site, learn about three worthy non-profit contestants, and cast their vote for the one they would like to support. The organization with the most votes at the end of the quarter is awarded a $1,500 donation from the Foundation.

First quarter winner, Adam Keenan Foundation, raises funds to ensure that Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are available at athletic facilities and public places throughout the Merrimack Valley area. The Foundation was founded in memory and in honor of Adam Keenan, who passed away unexpectedly at age 20 after he suffered sudden cardiac arrest during a baseball practice. Keenan’s family says an AED could have saved his life. They instituted the Foundation with the goal of having AEDs available at all public places.

“Community awareness is so important,” said Audrey Keenan, President of Adam Keenan Foundation. “Our friends and family know how much of a difference the availability of AEDs could make, but a lot of people in the community don’t.”

Keenan says the $1,500 donation is enough to donate a new AED, cabinet and CPR/AED training.

“Adam Keenan Foundation is a unique organization that raises funds for a very important cause in our community,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored to support its mission, and to name them our most recent Give-A-Click winner.”

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union was also honored to feature Get There, Start Now and Partnership for Successful Living as nominees in the 2019 first quarter Give-A-Click campaign.

The second quarter contest kicked off on April 1st with the following organizations vying for the next donation: Si, Se Puede; Central Food Ministry of Lowell; and Joni & Friends.

Voting is now open at WSACT.com, and all community members are encouraged to visit the website to cast their vote.
