Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awards $1,500 to The Psychological Center, Inc.

LOWELL, MA (April 23, 2018) — Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is pleased to announce its latest Give-A-Click winner is The Psychological Center, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Lawrence, MA. The Psychological Center received a $1,500 donation from the Credit Union’s We Share A Common Thread Foundation.

The Give-A-Click program runs every quarter on the We Share a Common Thread Foundation website. Community members visit the site, learn about the worthy non-profit contestants, and cast their vote for the one they would like to support. The organization with the most votes at the end of the quarter is awarded a $1,500 donation from the Foundation.

“We are elated, proud, and honored to win Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s first quarter 2018 Give-A-Click campaign,” said Carina Pappalardo, Chief Executive Officer of The Psychological Center, Inc. “The support from the community and local businesses plays a significant role in The Psychological Center. Due to their support the programs continue to thrive, our guests’ families can have peace of mind knowing that their loved one is receiving vital services, and every person who is at our program knows that there is a community rallying behind them showing them they care.”

With its three programs, Daybreak Shelter, Women’s View and Pegasus House, The Physiological Center, Inc. serves men and women struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, mental health issues or homelessness. The organization’s services provide individualized treatment for each client to help them achieve their personal goals, learn about relapse prevention, and successfully transition from the program.
Between the three programs, The Psychological Center, Inc. serves a total of 130 clients each day and night. Since its inception in 1971, the organization has served thousands of individuals from all over Massachusetts.

“The Psychological Center is a wonderful organization that lends a much-needed hand to our neighbors in need,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “We are proud to help them continue their mission in the Greater Lawrence community with this Give-A-Click donation,” he added.

To reel in votes, Pappalardo and her team aggressively promoted their participation on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. They also sent out email blasts to staff, friends and family and relied on word of mouth.

Pappalardo, who started at the organization in 2011 as Director of Human Resources, says the donation will be used to provide the guests with necessities, such as bus passes to get to work and appointments, new mattresses and pillows, and gardening supplies.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union was also honored to feature Renaissance Club and Servants for Haiti as nominees in the 2018 first quarter Give-A-Click campaign.

The second quarter contest kicked off on April 1st with Able to Serve – New England, Inc. and Pelham Good Neighbor Fund vying for the next donation prize. Voting is now open at weshareacommonthread.org, and all community members are encouraged to visit the website to cast their vote.
