LOWELL, MA (December 6, 2024) |
Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is making this holiday season a little brighter through its Small Acts That Give Back and employee volunteer initiatives.
As part of the Credit Union’s Small Acts That Give Back initiative, President and CEO, Larissa C. Thurston, along with several team members, surprised customers at the Fletcher Street Market Basket in Lowell on World Kindness Day, November 13, with $15 gift cards to assist with their holiday shopping. The team distributed 100 gift cards to local shoppers, spreading joy and kindness to families in the neighborhood.
Jeanne D’Arc also helps children in need through the A Bed for Every Child program, a Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless initiative that provides beds, bedding, stuffed animals, and more to children across the Commonwealth who don’t have a warm, comfortable bed of their own.
From November 4 to November 14, Jeanne D’Arc hosted a bedding drive, to support the Massachusetts Coalition of the Homeless, A Bed for Every Child. Employees and members donated twin sheets, comforters, and stuffed animals to be donated to the program.
In addition to the donation drive, 20 Jeanne D'Arc employees joined forces with UMass Lowell student-athletes to participate in A Bed for Every Child’s Build-A-Bed project. Together, they built 10 beds that will be distributed to Massachusetts children in need.
Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union fosters a culture of giving by encouraging all employees to give back to the community in the way that speaks to them. Thus far in 2024, the Jeanne D’Arc team has given over 5,600 hours of their time to more than 200 organizations across Greater Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.
“One of our Core Values at Jeanne D’Arc is ‘Heart to Serve’, and we are here to serve our communities both as an organization and as individuals,” said Larissa C. Thurston, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “I’m so proud of the volunteer work our team does to serve so many throughout the region.”
