Jessica Maldonado, Melinda Peterson join PolicyWorks

DES MOINES, IA (October 27, 2014) -- PolicyWorks is pleased to announce the addition of Jessica Maldonado and Melinda Peterson to its team.   Maldonado works with PolicyWork clients to provide strategic public affairs assistance, and Peterson assists compliance clients to ensure their marketing and advertising efforts meet federal regulations.

PolicyWorks is a Des Moines-based consulting firm that focuses on government and public affairs, as well as regulatory compliance for more than 600 credit unions.

Hupfer noted Maldonado will lead the public affairs team in creating strategic plans that help clients communicate their message to elected officials.

“With nearly a decade of experience working with the public policy team at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Jessica brings a comprehensive skillset that will enhance our ability to continue to provide our clients with high quality services,” Hupfer said.  “With Jessica’s addition to our team, we’re better positioned than ever to assist our clients that need to communicate a message to elected officials.”

Prior to joining PolicyWorks, Maldonado was at the Greater Des Moines Partnership where she managed legislative events, public policy projects, advocacy issues, workforce development initiatives, the Young Professionals Connection, and various other projects that strengthen the business climate and quality of life in Central Iowa. She is a 2013 graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, serves on the Community Connect Mentor Council, and is part of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs Gala Committee.  She is a graduate of Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, with a BA in Communication – Journalism and a minor in Spanish.

Hupfer explained Peterson will bring specific marketing and advertising expertise to the current compliance offerings.

“Melinda’s experience is a great addition to our team and, more importantly, will be an asset for helping credit unions with their compliance challenges,” he said.

Peterson is responsible for assisting credit unions with their compliance needs, with specific expertise in marketing and advertising compliance. Melinda will focus on reviewing credit union’s marketing materials, websites and social media for compliance with federal regulations.  Prior to joining PolicyWorks’ regulatory compliance team, Melinda has served financial institutions in various roles such as loan processing and home mortgage compliance. Melinda received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in Business Management.  She currently resides in Waukee with her husband, Kyle.  They have two daughters, Jordyn and Amelia.
