JetStream Federal Credit Union participates in summer internship program for the 7th consecutive year
MIAMI LAKES, FL (August 6, 2014) — JetStream Federal Credit Union proudly participated in the Miami Dade County Public Schools Summer Internship Program for the 7th consecutive year. Students from Barbara Goleman High School’s Academy of Finance were selected to intern at JetStream Federal’s headquarters in Miami Lakes.
The student’s assisted with a variety of projects, such as mailings to our member population, auditing scanned files, and assisting with day to day requests for documentation. The most significant task assigned was to complete a recovery and restore process with the Scanning Department. This process typically takes three to four months to complete; however, the interns completed it in one month’s time.
Furthermore, they completed an in-depth training which earned them the designation as “Community Development Certified Financial Counselors.” The tools in this training are designed to educate staff on how to effectively identify and intervene to protect the financial health of members in the community.
