Jim Nussle statement following CFPB director nomination

WASHINGTON, DC (June 18, 2018) — Today Credit Union National Association President/CEO, Jim Nussle released the following statement after President Donald Trump selected Kathy Kraninger to serve as the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

“Credit unions have faced an unprecedented amount of regulatory burden over the last several years. We look forward to working with new leadership at the bureau, and urge Ms. Kraninger to protect consumers by addressing bad actors in the marketplace, without unnecessarily limiting the ability of credit unions to serve their members, ” CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle said. “We are hopeful that under her leadership the Bureau will recognize the unique structure of credit unions and the enormous benefit that credit unions provide to American consumers in need of financial services.”
