JMFA announces new regional director

Company expands staff for community banks and credit unions in NC, SC & VA

HOUSTON, TX (July 27, 2020) — JMFA, one of the leading consulting firms in the financial services industry, announced today that Gil Johnson has joined the company’s team of professional consultants and performance improvement experts as a regional director. He will be responsible for client services and consulting with banks and credit unions in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Johnson joins JMFA with more than 14 years of industry experience—working with community banks and credit unions to help solve their business needs, including how products and services improve their account holders’ experience.

Prior to joining JMFA, Johnson was a business partner consultant at Truliant Federal Credit Union where he expanded market coverage by identifying prospective business partners and applying differentiated marketing strategies to enroll, service, and maintain long-term partnerships. Additionally, he was a relationship banker at BB&T (now Truist Bank) where he initiated, developed, and managed relationships while assuring both profitability targets and client needs were met. Most recently, he also worked at the largest data analytics provider to credit unions.

As many consumers and businesses navigate the current economic challenges, Johnson is looking forward to collaborating with banks and credit unions in his territory to implement strategies that are beneficial for both financial institutions and their account holders.

“Gil’s long-term association with the financial services community has led to extensive insight into the identification and delivery of product solutions to enhance account holder relationships, and development of new business opportunities for the markets we serve,” said JMFA executive vice president Mark Roe. “Whether it is to address compliance-related concerns, strengthen account holder retention, reduce net operating costs or find new revenue opportunities, I believe his perspective and expertise is of great value to community banks and credit unions.”

Gil holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Appalachian State University and resides in Winston-Salem, NC.
