Keeping the community warm in winter
DOVER, DE (February 12, 2016) — The community will stay a little warmer this winter, thanks to the initiative of Code Purple along with gracious donations from Dover Federal Credit Union. Donations of coats, sleeping bags, blankets and $240 in gift certificates for Butterball Turkeys were collected in branches, while employees participated in a matching funds donation program. All in total, a monetary donation of $1700 along with the donations were presented to the Code Purple initiative, supported by the Milford Community Center. The funds will be used to support this local Code Purple program, which provides shelter and food for the homeless during winter nights when the temperature drops below freezing.
