Keesler Federal Credit Union named Credit Union of the Year by United States Air Force
BILOXI, MS (August 17, 2016) — The Department of the Air Force awarded Keesler Federal Credit Union 2015 Credit Union of the Year for the “greater than $Billion in assets” category. The purpose of the annual award is to recognize the financial institution that goes above and beyond by providing the Keesler Air Force Base community with superior financial education and customized services. The prestigious award was recently presented at this year’s 53rd Defense Credit Union Council Conference in Boston.
One reason Keesler Federal earned this award was for opening a second Keesler Air Force Base branch to better serve the Airmen in training. Keesler Federal offers First Flight financial products specifically designed for Air Force personnel and sponsors numerous events at Keesler Air Force base, such as, Keesler Air Force Base’s Air Show, Special Olympics and quarterly and annual wing awards. Keesler Federal also provides financial management classes and financial counseling to Airmen and their families.
Jim Hollingsworth, Chairman of Keesler Federal’s Board of Directors, accepted the award and said, “We are honored and delighted to be selected as the Air Force’s top credit union. It is a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication in serving those who honor us with their service. Having just been recognized as the People Choice Award Winner, and now the Air Force’s best credit union, illustrates our commitment to providing superior products and services to ALL of our great members.
