DeKalb County School Districts’ Kelley Lake Elementary celebrated completion of their 2015 Georgia United School Crashers Runner-Up Courtyard Makeover this morning. Kelley Lake is located at in Decatur, has 390 students, and was one of five runner-up grant recipients selected from hundreds of entries. Principal Cynthia Husband nominated the school in Georgia United’s 2nd annual School Crashers makeover program earlier this spring.
Kelley Lake’s courtyard is in the center of their school and the makeover included: professional landscaping services, shrubs, plants, ground cover, assembly and installation of outdoor picnic tables and benches, as well as mulch for their playground areas. Rodney Reese, Senior Planner with the DeKalb County Department of Human and Community Development, provided the landscape plan and Georgia United brought the plan to life.
