Kellogg Community Credit Union charitable coat drives a big success
BATTLE CREEK, MI (December 13, 2016) — Kellogg Community Credit Union (KCCU) held its annual coat drive throughout the months of October – December to help the members of the communities in which they serve stay warm.
For the thirteenth year, KCCU partnered with the Charitable Union for their annual coat drive, which services the greater Battle Creek area. And, for the last several years, KCCU has expanded their community involvement to collect coats, hats, scarves and mittens for other areas by participating with MACS (Marshall Area Community Services Inc.), TRAM (Three Rivers Area Mentoring), and in Kalamazoo County through the Salvation Army’s Share the Warmth program.
Thanks to the generosity of all who participated, KCCU collected a total of 232 new and gently used coats, along with an assortment of hats, scarves, and mittens, which will be distributed to local families through our four community partners. Winter coats and accessories of all sizes were collected, from adults to infants, and everything in-between, which will help families stay warm for the upcoming winter season.
