Kellogg Community Credit Union (KCCU) recently wrapped up its annual Coat Drive, held throughout September and October, with the mission of helping keep community members warm during the colder months ahead. Each coat, hat, and pair of mittens collected represents the caring spirit that KCCU and its members share with their neighbors.
KCCU is incredibly proud of its Team and Members for their generosity, which continues to reflect the credit union philosophy of people helping people. This year, KCCU collected more than 385 new and gently used coats, along with 53 additional cold-weather items such as hats and scarves. Donations included a wide range of sizes—from infant to adult—and were distributed through local charities and nonprofit partners across West Michigan to ensure they reached individuals and families in need.
“We’ve already had a glimpse of winter, with more cold weather on the way, which makes us especially grateful to everyone who took part in this year’s coat drive,” shared Tracy Miller, KCCU’s CEO. “It’s truly an honor to collect and provide these much-needed winter items to our local charitable partners. Supporting the communities we serve is at the heart of everything we do. This incredible effort wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our KCCU team, our members, and our community. Thank you to everyone who donated — your kindness truly makes a difference.”
KCCU’s vision statement includes “providing opportunity and lifelong value to our members and our community.” KCCU takes this statement seriously and has demonstrated their commitment by hosting a Coat Drive for the past 24 years as they know there is always a great need for the items collected.
