KEMBA Financial Credit Union’s long-time CEO announces retirement & new CEO is announced

KEMBA Financial Credit Union’s long-time President & CEO Jerry Guy has announced his retirement, effective April 30, 2019, after 40 years at the Credit Union.

Under Guy’s 30 years as President/CEO, KEMBA has grown to the largest Central Ohio-based credit union, with more than $1.3 billion in assets and serving nearly 104,000 members. He leaves the credit union in a financially strong and growing position.

“Jerry has been a distinguished leader for KEMBA, and an influential force in the credit union movement,” said Board Chairman, Donna Folberth. “His substantial contributions will be recognized for years to come, and he will be missed.”

KEMBA’s Board of Directors has named Mark Decello its next President and Chief Executive Officer. Decello will take the reins on November 1, 2018.

“It is my pleasure to announce Mark as the next leader of KEMBA,” said Folberth. “He is a seasoned leader, and we are confident that he will continue to guide the credit union’s future growth and success.”

Decello has been with KEMBA since 2009 and has served as the Credit Union’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2011. The Board strongly believes that this will be a seamless leadership transition, allowing KEMBA to continue its successes and take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.

“KEMBA, its members, and associates, are very fortunate to have someone of Mark’s caliber, experience, and commitment to the credit union industry step into this role,” said Jerry Guy, current President & CEO. “As I depart this role, I have full confidence that Mark will uphold our high standards and commitment to our membership, as well as our 250-plus associates, as KEMBA continues to strive to be ‘a better way to bank.’”

“I am honored to assume this role from Jerry and lead KEMBA into the future,” said Decello.
