The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce is hosting its final Lunch & Learn of the season in partnership with Breakwater Federal Credit Union. The Lunch & Learn is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3 at 12:00 p.m. at the Keweenaw Welcome Center (418 Shelden Ave. Suite B) in downtown Houghton.
The interactive session will begin with an informative presentation focused on fraud prevention and the growing impact of scams on businesses, employees, consumers, and the greater community. Led by Breakwater’s Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator, Kayleigh White, and Operations Specialist Michelle Monticello, the session will provide attendees with insight into emerging scams, cyber threats, impersonation schemes, payment fraud, phishing attacks, and other tactics affecting organizations of all sizes.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test with a fun, fast-paced game of Business Fraud Jeopardy. The activity is designed to reinforce key fraud prevention concepts in a fun and engaging way while encouraging discussion among local business professionals. To make the game even more exciting, Breakwater will be giving away prizes to the top players.
Lunch will be provided by the Keweenaw Co-op. The event is free for Chamber members and $10 for non-members. Community members, local businesses, and organizations are encouraged to attend and learn more about real-world fraud, emerging scams, and the impact fraud can have on our community.
