Kredit Academy launches transformative financial literacy initiative for South Florida

Community Event to Debut Financial Literacy App with Savings Match Incentive at Red Rooster Overtown on April 23

In a powerful new partnership aimed at empowering Miami-Dade residents through financial education, Kredit Academy, Edward Jones, the nonprofit organization Tech Knowledge, and Dade County Federal Credit Union have joined forces to launch a transformative community initiative that provides free access to a leading financial literacy app and a unique savings account match opportunity.

The initiative will officially launch at a special community event on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Red Rooster in historic Overtown, Miami. Local leaders, financial educators, and residents will gather to celebrate the program’s rollout, which seeks to break down barriers to financial empowerment and economic mobility for underserved communities in Miami-Dade County.

This collaboration brings together the innovative tools of Kredit Academy, the financial services experience and community support of Edward Jones, the grassroots outreach of Tech Knowledge and its Founder Ted Lucas, alongside the trusted community banking resources of Dade County Federal Credit Union. Community members who participate will gain free access to a user-friendly financial literacy app powered by Kredit Academy called Kredit Quest, which offers real-world tools and lessons to users of all ages. Participants will also be eligible for a savings account match for accounts opened at DCFCU this reward will add an additional $50,000 to the savings account of community members who participate. This match will support many in active learning and personal savings milestones.

“This is more than an app — it’s a movement toward financial freedom for Miami-Dade County,” said Ted Lucas, Founder of Tech Knowledge. “Our goal is to equip every participant with not just knowledge, but the tools to take action, grow their savings, and build a more secure financial future.”

This initiative underscores a shared commitment to closing the wealth gap and providing equitable financial education opportunities. The April 23 launch event will feature remarks from community leaders, live app demonstrations, and on-site enrollment support.
