Lake Michigan Credit Union promotes Ken Jansen to President, Lake Michigan Insurance Agency
GRAND RAPIDS, MI (September 30, 2016) — Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce the promotion of Ken Jansen from vice president to president, of Lake Michigan Insurance Agency (LMIA).
Jansen joined Lake Michigan Insurance Agency in 1993. Though focused primarily on commercial property and casualty insurance, Jansen is licensed in all aspects of property, casualty and employee benefits coverage.
LMCU’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Jeremiah Kossen said, “We are fortunate to have Ken leading this important and growing division of LMCU. This promotion comes in recognition of Ken’s accomplishments, dedication and most importantly his leadership. In addition, it positions LMIA well to continue expanding both organically and through acquisitions.”
Jansen said of his promotion, “I appreciate the confidence LMCU has shown in me. LMIA has been serving the insurance needs of its members for over 80 years, earning a strong reputation built on value and outstanding service. We currently have 40 staff members and this year will achieve approximately $52 million in premium volume. Our peers in the industry also have a lot of trust and confidence in LMIA, and we’re currently in an acquisition mode – looking to expand our coverage area and provide superior insurance products and services to the ever expanding footprint of Lake Michigan Credit Union. Our goal is to provide additional value in the area of insurance coverage to LMCU members, wherever they might be located.”
Jansen has been an active participant in the local industry and trade associations for many years. Born and raised in the Grand Rapids area, he is actively involved with his community, lending his talents to Junior Achievement along with serving a number of local non-profit boards. Jansen is an avid golfer and resides in the Forest Hills area with his wife Tracy and their four children.
